Competitions

This is the main pinball competition at 8BitFlip. It will run all day on Saturday 15th April for a maximum of 64 players.

Registrations are taken in advance and will be closed when the maximum of 64 players has been reached.

Round 1 will commence at 11am and must be completed by 12 noon

Players arriving too late to take part in Round 1 can go straight into Round 2 (which starts at 12 Noon) but will be placed in Group B and therefore at a disadvantage.

It is a qualifying main competition for the UK Championship Series* and also qualifies for the award of World Pinball Player Ranking Points (*Your placing for UKCS purposes will be based on your combined performance in The Big Flip and The Old Flip on a two thirds/one third split)

The top three placed players will also receive trophies

All players will compete in the first two rounds, and any player who does not make it through to round three or above will have their competition entry fee refunded

The entry fee is £10 per person and entries can be purchased on our website alongside your tickets for 8bitflip. You will need both an entry ticket to the show and a competition entry to play.

Your £10 entry fee to The Big Flip will be fully refunded if you are eliminated from the competition before round three

You must have an 8BitFlip show entry to be able to compete in The Big Flip

 


This is a “classics” competition based solely on pre-DMD machines

Qualifying takes place on Sunday morning and early afternoon, with the finals on Sunday afternoon

Registration will take place on the day, and there is no maximum number of entrants

The entry fee is £5 (to be paid on the day) and each player may enter a maximum of twice.

High Score Competition

This will be a machine on “Pay to Play”

The highest score on each of the show days will receive 50% of the amount inserted in that machine on that day.

 

EM Challenge Competition

This will be an Electro-Mechanical pinball machine on “Pay to Play”

Prizes will be awarded for achieving a specific objective on the machine, and for the highest score across the entire show weekend
